iamleo i love this record! lovely harmonies, great guitar and production, awesome lyrics, kai and charlie’s voices compliment each other beautifully. my personal favourite dwaal troupe album so far. Favorite track: Some Blood for Luna.

Update: the more I play this the better it gets. I am not familiar with this band, or maybe person as it may seem but…. This is an amazing record that gets better with each spin. The harmonies and vocal stylings of Lucy Dacus on a very 90s sounding record. I could have picked any song of side one as a favorite, and I’m sure side two holds up as well. But this is the kind of record you don’t want to flip, side one is that good.
Favorite track: Shakes the Walls at Night.

"Lucky Dog" was self-released digitally by Chicago upstarts Dwaal Troupe in 2021 to critical acclaim, and after signing to Ally Records in late 2021, "Lucky Dog" is now available on limited-edition vinyl in 2023. Contemporaries of Chicago bands Horsegirl, Lifeguard, Postcard Winter, Friko, and others, who collectively are leading a much heralded youth indie music scene in the windy city. Dwaal Troupe craft majestic songs tapping into groundwork forged by many of the Elephant 6 Recording Co. artists, and the likes of Guided By Voices, Sebadoh, Car Seat Headrest, and Velvet Underground.
